BLS Youth Challenge

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Challenge is the same for adults and youth teams.

Youth teams work the same scenarios along side adult teams but they are ranked separately.

Youth BLS teams require that at least one member be trained to the EMT level. Youth teams should be familiar with scene size up, patient assessment, taking vitals, treating wounds, and providing accurate hand-off reports.

This challenge usually takes 5 hours and includes 3 scenarios and an EMT level 50-point test.
